DDT Quest (Ramapo College TIES program, used with permission) online library of the project contains many useful resources to better research malaria, the use of DDT to kill mosquitoes, and information on mosquitoes. Note that DDT use began after WWII, and many discussions at that time recognized the potential negative consequences to the environment.

Draining wetlands, now controversial, was somewhat less so in the 1940s, but a map of drained areas in 1917 show how dedicated to creating running water was to mosquito control.
