Traffic issues

A semi speeding towards five corners down Ridge road.

Note the lack of a shoulder as well as the lack of sidewalks on either
side of the road as you progress westward. This stretch of Ridge road is well populated with modest sized houses, some with set backs that place them within arm's reach of the passing trucks. NOTE: Because Ridge Road is now a Township road, large trucks are banned and redirected to other corridor roads. A similar ban is on Georges Road. This has diminished, but not eliminated truck traffic on these roads.

Traffic on Ridge Road

Ridge road has the misfortune to be a major East-West connector for traffic headed to Route One from the area's many warehouses and from exit 8A of the New Jersey Turnpike. New route 522 has yet to attract this traffic away from this convenient short cut.
